The Governor’s office has myriad responsibilities and demands. Economic and consumer issues are pieces of a much larger pie. I want the Lieutenant Governor’s office to take on the quarterback role and provide a greater focus on “kitchen table economics” -- doing more to protect Illinois consumers and taxpayers and stimulate our economy. In this office, I think we can bring more strategic focus to statewide economic development efforts, taking the time to aggressively pursue the kinds of companies that can bring good and plentiful jobs to our state. That’s what we need in Illinois.
